Feeling lucky? We have a fashion competition with a twist as we bid adieu to our summer racing season

The last racewear fashion competition for our summer of racing, the Godavari Diamonds Style Stakes is all about having ‘Lady Luck’ on your side with the winner taking home a $2000 voucher from Godavari Diamonds to put towards something sparkly.

Part best-dressed; part good luck – entrants must ensure they capture the eye of our judges AND are onto a winner on the day

 

How it works

  • Complete an entry form & get your photo taken on the Fashion Lawn before 2.30pm
  • Once entries close, our judges will go through the photos & select their finalists who will be contacted via mobile phone
  • Finalists will each receive a ‘sponsor experience’ & enjoy pre-race hospitality in the Owners Enclosure where they will also randomly pick a horse running in race 7 (TBC)
  • Finalists then head to the dais to watch the race
  • Our winner for the day is the person whose horse runs first past the post and we’ve also got a little something for 2nd and 3rd

 

* This competition is free to enter for both men and women age 18yrs+

Meet the Judges

Lulu Wilcox

Lulu is no stranger to racing fashion, having been a Fashions in the Field judge at competitions around the country for several years now. She has a degree in costume design and is a professional stylist, commencing her career at MTV in Australia. Since then, she’s struck out on her own and has built her business to the point that she’s now one of New Zealand’s busiest stylists with notable clients such as NZ Woman’s Day and Australian Women’s Weekly. She’s also the talent behind some of New Zealand’s most well-known celebrities ‘looks’ as well as being the fashion eyes for Ellerslie’s famous “SkyWalk” event back in 2019.

Angus McDougall

Angus cuts a very stylish path and is true trend-setter when it comes to men’s fashion. Angus currently works as a Senior Marketing Manager with over 10 years experience in the advertising and marketing industry and was named an official ambassador of New Zealand Fashion Week in 2023. Angus made his judging debut last weekend on Trackside Derby Day and is back this Saturday to help find the most stylish men and women on course.
